The former Gators linebacker quit before the Citrus Bowl during his redshirt junior season and moved on to life after football, a source said in January. But it turns out that Powell will play college football as a graduate transfer at Toledo this upcoming season.

Powell has one year of athletic eligibility remaining.

Powell played in 10 games for Florida last season, finishing with 11 tackles and one tackle for loss. The Largo-Pinellas Park product recorded 21 tackles and appeared in 25 games during his Gators career.
