It’s never too early to look ahead to the 2017 NFL Draft, so let’s do that. After two Florida players — CB Vernon Hargreaves and SS Keanu Neal — were picked in the first round of this year’s draft, how many Gators products will go in the first round in 2017?

Let’s take a look at some early mock drafts …

WalterFootball.comTwo Gators are projected to be first-round picks in this mock draft — CB Jalen Tabor and LB Jarrad Davis. Tabor is projected as the fourth overall pick and Davis is projected as the 24th overall pick. In order for this prediction to be correct, Tabor — a junior –will need to forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft. Davis is a senior and will be in next year’s draft.

SBNationTabor is the only Gators player projected as a first-round pick in this draft — 10th overall. According to the website, Tabor “projects as a true No. 1 corner.”

ESPN hasn’t released a 2017 mock draft yet, but they did look at the top 2017 draft prospect for every team in the SEC East. As expected, Tabor is listed as Florida’s top draft prospect. But the Gators cornerback is also listed as the top draft prospect in the SEC East. “Tabor looks to be a first-round lock in the 2017 draft, and some early mock drafts show him going as high as the top 10,” writes ESPN’s Greg Ostendorf.
