The disappearance of Antonio Callaway was quickly brought up and then tossed aside on Tuesday afternoon.

Florida coach Jim McElwain said Callaway — last year’s star play-maker and return ace — is not enrolled in summer classes, and that the situation is “being handled.”

Callaway and converted wide receiver Treon Harris were missing from spring practice in March, when McElwain told a bewildered group of reporters that the pair “haven’t been with us since January.”

Fans didn’t get any answers until Callaway’s attorney, Huntley Johnson, announced that the receiver had been suspended for a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.

There is still no official answer for Harris’ absence.

Callaway, a rising sophomore, was the Gators’ top receiver last season, hauling in 35 catches for 678 yards and four touchdowns, while adding two punt return scores.
