Steve Spurrier’s career with the Gators may be done, but his name will live on at Florida forever.

The university announced plans to make sure of that by changing the official name of its football stadium to “Steve Spurrier – Florida Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.”

The previous name of the stadium was Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field.

Spurrier, who won a Heisman Trophy for the Gators as a player and a national championship as a coach, retired from his head coaching job at South Carolina during the 2015 football season.
