Florida Gators announce search committee to find new athletics director

University of Florida president Kent Fuchs has appointed a search committee to hire a new athletics director, the school announced Wednesday.

The eight-member committee consists of constituents within the university and athletic department. UF trustee and board chairman Manny Fernandez will chair the search. Continue reading “Florida Gators announce search committee to find new athletics director”

Florida changing name of football field to include Steve Spurrier’s name

Steve Spurrier’s career with the Gators may be done, but his name will live on at Florida forever.

Gators commit impressed with Florida’s new academic center

GAINESVILLE — Florida defensive tackle commit Jordon Scott wanted to check out UF’s facilities for the first time during his visit Saturday.

He got to see much more.

Gators 350-pound DT commit Jordon Scott ‘a DB at heart’

GAINESVILLE — Most high school recruits model their game after a college or pro athlete who plays their position.

Jordon Scott, however, is an exception.

Florida-Kentucky game set for 3:30 p.m. on CBS

Florida has strung together 29 consecutive wins over Kentucky. The Gators will look to continue that streak, which began in 1987, in front of a national audience on CBS.

The SEC East matchup between Florida and Kentucky is one of the five SEC games that were revealed to be on CBS this upcoming season, according to a Wednesday morning press release. Suspended Gators WR Antonio Callaway not enrolled in summer classes

The disappearance of Antonio Callaway was quickly brought up and then tossed aside on Tuesday afternoon.

Doug Nussmeier says Luke Del Rio ‘a little bit ahead’ in Gators quarterback competition

The Gators’ quarterback competition has attracted a lot of attention this offseason.

Oregon State transfer Luke Del Rio — who was ineligible to play for the Gators last season due to NCAA transfer rules — is competing with Purdue graduate transfer Austin Appleby, and freshmen Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask to be Florida’s starting quarterback this year.
